About Us

Scout Oath

On my honor I will do my best
to do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
to help other people at all times;
to keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.

Scout Law

A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

Our Story

Troop 224 is a traditional, non-denominational Scouting unit. We are chartered by North Valley Youth Leadership Development, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. A core group of Scouters with a passion for the program founded Troop 224.  Our first Scouts crossed over from Pack 824 in March of 2017. We are a very active troop in the Phoenix metro area. We hike, camp, fish, and pursue many other outdoor activities. We welcome boys new to Scouting and experienced Scouts looking for a new troop.

Our Vision

Troop 224 will provide a program to area youth to prepare them to be responsible, participating citizens and leaders guided by the Scout Oath and Law.

Our Mission

Our mission is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Meet the Leadership

Michael Anderson

Hello! My name is Michael Anderson. I live with my wife Nicole and two kids Noah and Delaney. I was born and raised in Phoenix. I was a member of Pack 416 as a Cub Scout and Troop 607 as a Boy Scout. I achieved the rank of Star, but sadly ended my Scout advancement.

When the opportunity came along to share the Scouting experience with my son I was elated! We joined Pack 824 in 2013 when Noah was a Tiger.  I am now the Scoutmaster for Troop 224.

When I'm not busy with Scouting, you will find me working as an optician or programming Christmas lights to music

Sandra House

Assistant Scoutmaster

This is my eleventh year of involvement with Scouting. I have served as a den leader for all ranks from Lion through Webelos and as an assistant Scoutmaster and merit badge counselor at the Boy Scout level. I am currently the committee chair for Pack 824. At the district level, I am an assistant roundtable commissioner. I am also a den leader trainer.  I am thrilled to serve as assistant Scoutmaster and merit badge counselor for Troop 224.

I was born in Phoenix and grew up in rural areas of Arizona. Hiking, camping, horseback riding, and gardening, are some of the things I enjoy. I have a daughter, two sons, two grandsons, and a granddaughter. My daughter Sarah leads the Pack 824 Wolf (soon to be Bear) den. My grandson Christopher was in the AOL Webelos den. He is now a member of Troop 224.  My grandson Andrew is in the Wolf den.

Steve Rasbach

Assistant Scoutmaster

Hi, I'm Steve Rasbach. I grew up with Scouting (Wolf through Arrow of Light).  I still remember some of the great experiences and friendships we had back in the Boulder Dam Area Council. I proudly served in the United States Air Force, and now I work in the field of cyber security.

One of my hobbies is astronomy, and I have a couple of very large telescopes that I like to bring to some of our outings for the  kids and adults to enjoy.

My goal is to make sure the boys have the most positive and exciting Scouting experience possible.
